ASHBURTON v TIMAIU
The Ashburton Golf Club ywsterday journeyed down to Tiinaru to t«y conclusions with <he Timaru club, A3 tho northern club is a young one, tha scratch players of the home team were withdrawn. The visiting team were greatly handicapped owing to their want of experience in hill and vale work. This, together with playing on strange links, accounted for their rather severe defeat. The links for a first year were in splendid trim, and the day being fine the game was played under most favourable conditions. Refreshments were kindly provided by a few lady members, and greatly eDJoyed. Tho following are the scores :—
