Wellington, July 18
The annual Conference of delegates from the Agricultural and Pastoral Associations opened to-day. Tha Acting Chairman (Mr Pattullo) remarked on the improvements in farming methods, but said there was still room for improvement. The prospectb of dairy farming were good in the main, and the industry seemed likely to go on improving till it equalled, if not surpassed, frozen meat. Although pastoralists might not continue to get the present high prices, still he thought sheep farming would long continue profitable, despite the competition of the Argentine and Australia.
Mr J. G-. Wilson was elected President.
