A MIRACULOUS ESCIPE,

United Press Association-—Kyßlectric Telegraph.

Dunbdin July 10

There waR a narrow escape from a disastrous accident this afternoon where the Kaikorai cable tramway ccobsos the Roslyn Company's electric line. As a cable car was proceeding up the bill and had got a few feet on the other line, an electric car struck the front of the cable car, partly turning it round, the gripper acting aa a pivot. The cable car w.is considerably damaged, but the electric oar was not much injured. There were 2!) passengers on the cable car, who escaped with a fright and a shaking. The electric car bumper struck the front compartment of the other car. Had the cable car been another three feet on the line, the electric car would have crushed four of. the passengers who were seated on the side seat facing the approaching car. The managers of the two companies will meet to-morrow to devise means to prevent a recurrence of such a collision.
