Chertsey Sports and Racing Club.
A Committee meeting of the Chertsey Sports and .Racing Club was held in the Library on Saturday evening to balance accounts of last Sports meeting. Present — Messrs W. Tunstan (chairman),.'. Cameron, (treasurer), John Stringfellow, B. iStewart, J. Hamilton, P. Doig, A. Ironside, A Doig, N. Johnson, T. Ward, and the secretary (Alex Ironside). The treasurer presented a balance sheet showing a oredit balance at the Bank of New Zealand, Kakaia, amounting to £39 8a 4d, and showing a profit on last year's meeting of £10, which was considered satisfactory in view of the large expense incurred in the getting up of the grounds.
The following recommendations were made to bo brought forward at the next annual meeting to bo held on the SaturSaturday night most suitable in January, 1906 :—Re owners' and competitors passes; trots to be made 1 milo and lorries instead of la and 2 miles; Chertsey Cup to be made 1 mile.
A discussion took place re erecting a building suitable for tbe secretary's office and a dressing room The matter was left iv the hands of Messrs J. Slringfellow and W. IT. Dunstan.
Ihe matter of attending to the track was left in (he hands of Messrs John Stringfellow and N. Johnson.
The secretary was instructed to write to the Domain Board asking that body to call a meeting allowing the Sports Committee to attend and put before the Board the advisability of laying down a cycle track ; aleo to discuss the rights to the me of the Domain as regards sport. The meeting then concluded.
