Wakanui Road District.

The adjourned annual meeting of ratepayers waa held on Saturday. Mr G. W. Leadley, Chairman .of the Board presided.

The Chairman stated that the meeting had been convened to adopt the audited balance sheet. He moved, and it was carried—" That the balance sheet for the year ending 31st March, 1905, be taken as read and adopted."

The Chairman said that the meeting had also been convened for general business. As the ratepayers are aware the Board had an offer to purchase a stone crusher, but nothing definite had been done. The Board had visited a similar machine at work, and he could assure them they were well satisfied with the way it did the work.

After the matter was discussed, the Chairman said he was sorry that the attendance was fo small. However, he took it as an assurance that the ratepayers had every confidence in the Board. At a meeting of the Board to be held this day, the question would be carefully considered and probably some decision arrived at.

The meeting then adjourned.
