Hampstead School Committee.
* : The monthly meeting of the Hampstead School Committee was held last evening. Present—the Rev Gt. B. Inglis (chairman), and Mes.'x* Ferriman, Bright, Beaumont, Hopkins and Payne. 'I he Headmaster's report stated that the roll number at the end of June was 297 (boys 155, girls 142). The average attendance for the quarter had been 254 and for the preceding week 239.6. The headmaster stated various requirements for school use. The report was adopted, the needs enumerated to be attended to. A circular was received from Mr T. W. Adams, a candidate for re-election on the Board of Education, in which he gave his views on various educational matters and advanced reasons for the vote of the committee in support of hi 3 candidature. Messrs Kerr and Andrews were appointed a Visiting Committee for the month. Accounts amounting to £1Q 15s 81 were passed for payment.
