While disciplinary battalions were exercising at Kherson, soldiers attacked and slightly wounded Captain Goegorod3ky with their bayonets. Davydoff, battalion commander, drew his sword, aiid rushed to the rescue. Although he received five wounds and was drenched with blood, ho induced the battalion to return to barracks. Ha wrote a lett3r to the Cz-ir, and then expired. Fight of his murderers escaped, but eventually saveu were caught.
