An accident occurred on board the s.s. Wanalia lat>< on Saturday when she was being berthed at tho Gladstone warf. The mooring chain which had been made fast to ihe wharf parted, one of th 3 ends striking the boatswain, Alexander Brock, on tho legs. Ho was t.iken to the hospital where it was disrovered that one of hi? thighs was fractured and the shin of the other lo^ badly bruised. He is progress-ing favonrablv.
At the inquest cv the body of the mau Daniel McAlisUr the jury returned k ierdict of found drowned but that then wftg no evidence to chow how the boch came into the water. A rider was added to :he effect that more lights were required o>. 'he eastern side of the lion Pot.
