Burglars were at work ut Ravensbourne and Pelicbet Bay railway stations last night. No particulars are obtainable yet. F-ATKB.
Tho safes at both Ravensbourne and Burkes railway stations wore dynamite-] ; £3 fls (id was taken from LiurkeV, and £8 6s 3d from Tfavensbourne. No Found was hoard. An empty bag was fcund along the line, but there is no elne to the thieves. Christchurch, July 4 Three Chinamen were charged lar'oreMr Bishop. S.M., with unlawfully having opium for smoking in their possession. Ono was fined .£'oo, the amount suod for under the Cus'o:ns law, and the other two were remanded for analysis of the opium found in their possession, the defence being that it was nofc op urn at all, but a useless fake.
