Farmers' Union.

A meeting of tbe local branch of the Farmers' Union wa* held this afternoon. Present:—Messrs W. Harding (in the chair), S S Chapman, C Reid, J C N <3rig!r, W T LW, G W Lead ley, J Copeland, A J Huston, F Capon, and Bruce. Mr I.eadley moved, and Mr J C N Grigg seconded, the flowing resolution, both gentlemen epeaking very highly of thelnte Mr T M Jones: ~" This Committed of the Ashburton Br.moh of the New Zealand Farmprs' Union, having heard of the death of Mr T. M. Jonps, desires to convey its condolences to Miss Jones on her «reat loss, and expresses its high appreciation of his personal character, and also of hi 3 work doLe in furthering the interests of the Farmers' Union " Carriod unanimously. The mpeting then adjourned for a week out of respect to the memory of the deceased.
