United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph. ORiusTCHURCH,*June 29 Since February 21st, 1903, when the Christchurch drillshed was burned down, a good many fires, more or less destructive, have occurred on the came site among roomß belonging to the Volunteers. At an inquiry held to-day, before the Coroner and a jury, a verdict wag given that the fires were wilful, but there was no evidence as to the incendiaries. The evidence of Volunteers' witnesses showed that the greatest sufferers were Volunteer Companies. The Insurance Companies refused to take the risk after the first fire.
