Accidents and Fatalities.
United Press Associatiou—By Electric Telegraph Auckland, June 28 Eileen Wallaco, 9 years, died m the hospital to-3ay. Deceased was playing near a fire about a month ago, and by some means her clothing became ignited. Her mother, who was m the next room, heard her cries, and quickly pat out the flames, not, however, before the libtle one had sussevere burns about the neck. Dannevibke, June 28 A teamster named Ayiwood was killed this afternoon on the Umutaoroa road by the overturning of waggon \aded with timber. Deceased recently came here from the Auckland district. It is understood he leaves a wife and family at Devonport. i Hokitika, June 28 The body of John Gingarvon, an old man who was drowned m the Teremakau river flood, was recovered last night near the side of his hut. It was fully dressed and had on gum boots. From the fact of money and other valuables being found on his person it is believed that whon endeavouring to make his escape m the dark he was swept away by the rapidly rising flood waters. Dunedin, June 28 Mr Henry Watson, an old resident, was drowned m the Manuherikia river. He was m Alexandra on Tuesday, and left for his home! at Springvale about dusk. His body was found this afternoon m the river.
