THE ASHBURTON RUGBY UNION'S POSITION.
United Press Association—Eleotrio Telegraph. Wellington June 27 In regard to the dispute between the Canterbury and South Canterbury Rugby Unions regarding boundaries, the N.Z. Rugby Union has decided that, as the boundaries of the South Canterbury Rugby Union are nob defined, Ashburton County cannot be deemed to be part of such district, and that the Ashburton County subUnion, having ceased to affiliate with the South. Canterbury Eugby Union, is no longer under the control of that body, and is therefore free to affiliate as a sub-union with the Canterbury Rugby Union. The Rangitata river has been fixed as the boundary between the two Unions, g ;££
