United Press Association— My Electric Telegraph—Copyright New York, June 23 Details of the accident to the New York Chicago express show that the express known a3 the Twentieth Century, Limited, found a switch locked at Menton. The engine left the track and fell m a ditch. The first combination car was derailed and caught fire from the engine. The next crashed into the Btation, and collapsed on top of the wrecked coach, terribly crushing and maiming the passengers. The remaining cars escaped. The boiler of iihe engine burst, horribly scalding the passengers m the combination car. Twenty four persons were .killed and forty injured. It is intended to revert to a -twenty hour instead of eighteen hous timetable, though the authorities declare that the fastest trains are perfectly safe if the switches are not tampered with.
