(From our own Correspondent). Christchurch, June 2'S There is a fair local inquiry for wheat, especially bright samples, which aiv, however, difficult to obtain. Very little wheat is offering, and there are but; f«w salts to record. What wheat is being purchased is for shipping purposes. A line of 800 bußliols good Tuscau has been bought at 2s Si per bushel, and 1000 bushels s.une variety, slightly sprouted, at 2s 7d, at country stations. There is very good inquiry for oats, but offerings are limited. Suits are recorded of 1000 bushels heavy Gartons at is Bid, 200 bushels Duns at Is 7d, 12C0 bushels Danish at Is 4J,d, also r ther lots of Gartons at Is 6d, and Danish at Is sd, at Canterbury stations. Oatssbeaf Chaff is rather dull of sale, and 57s 6d is being offered, but sellers are generally asking 60s per ton. Potatoes—Prime Derwents have bsen bought at .£5 10a at country stations.
