Received June 20, 10.3 a.m. Judges' Allowances. Melbourne, Juae 20 An Order m Council has been issued fixing the allowances of High Court judges at two guineas a day exclusive of passage money and expenses of associates. The latter are to receive 17s a day. ,
Robbery of Jewellery.
' Coppel & Coy , jewellers, Collins Street Melbourne, were robbed of £1,000 worth of jewellery. The burglars gained entrance through an unoccuped building adjoining and cut through a bluestone wall two feot thick. They then drilled out the lock of the safe.
Norfolk Island, Jund, 20 The cable steamer Iris has arrived from Suva and sails for Auckland on Thursday.
The Customs Frauds.
• Sydney, June 20 The High Court has fixed the penalties m the remaining fish cases. Each defendant was fined £170 with costs. The Judge said that the admission which saved the Commonwealth much expense had operated m fixing the amount.
