«j*__ United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Dunedin, June 12 At the Supreme Court James Shannon, alias Johnston, who had pleaded guilty afc Oamaru to theft from the person, was sontenced by Mr Justice Williams to two years' imprisonment with hard labor. The prisoner had a bad record, having served sentences at Auckland, Timaru, and Waimate. William Quin, aged 24, who had pleaded guilty to theft from the person, was also sentenced to two years' imprisonment, his character being bad generally.
