Friedlander asked what steps the Clab intended to take to ensure that bookmakers paid their fees. The chairman said that at the last meeting only the " inside " bookmakers paid up their license money. He and the Secretory could not collect sixpence from the outside bookmakers. They did not eject any, aa they were not sure of their legal powers. It was decided to relegate the whole matter to the Committee to deal with. The secretary said that when it was found some of the outside bookmakers would not pay, no money was taken from any outside bookmaker, even though some were quite willing to pay up. After a vote of thanks to the Chairman and to the outgoing Committee, the meeting adjourned. At a meeting of the new Committee after the general meeting, Mr T. E. Upton was unanimously re-elected chairman. i
