Kelson, Juno 13 A largely attended public meeting was beld last evening to demand railway extension and the fulfilment of the solemn pledges of the Government. The Mayor presided, and the Parliamentary representatives of the district were present and spoke. It was resolved that the meeting express keen disappointment that the pledges to connect Nelson city and province with other centres had been so long unfulfilled, and calling on the Government to redeem tho3e pledges and proceed speedily with the railway from Tadraor through the JBuller, and requesting members of Parliament to secure by all means m their power the speedy completion of the railway from Tadmor to Inurchison. A deputation representative of citizens of the whole district will proceed to Wellington to urge the vigorous prosecution of the railway through to the Buller. Local bodies are also to appoint delegates.
