EucHRR Match.—The annual euchre ! match between teams representing the | Ashburton Club and fcbe Fire Brigade, wa> | played at the Firo Brigade Station last I evening, and resulted iv a draw, both teams scoring 32 guinea. Social at Riverside.—A mosfc enjoyable social was held m the Riverside schoolroom lust evening. The programme included euchre playing, dancing, and songs. Two prizes offered for the most successful enchi* players were won by Miss E. Bennett and Mr J. Anderson. Dancing was kept up with spirit from 10 o'clock till 2 a.m., Mr Anderson providing the music. Refreshments supplied by the ladies of the district were handed round. Songs were contributed by Messrs B. Dalton, J. Stewart, and E. Ilaines. Through the bursting of a soda water bottle, Mr A. Bray sustained a naaty cut on his left hand, nec63S:tating his attending a doctor, who inserted several stitches.
