Mr Alleu said he would be prepared to pay double the present rate providing the roads ha used were improved. Mr T. M. Jones concurred m those remarks. It was decided that the Board and the Clerk journey to Riccarton- to witness a trial of the rock crusher and sereaner on June 14th. The Chairmau reported that Mr J. Begg desired to purchase a partion of an unused road on his property, and had asked that the road m question be included with other unused roads intended to be sold by the Board.—Agreed to, providing no objection -was made by adjoining land owners. It was reported that Mr John Corbett, Wakanui, had laid claim to some portions of unused roads propos3d to be sold by the Board. 1 bo' Clerk submitted an original plan of the roads m the locality, which showed that Mr Corbott had no claim. It was decided to fix the annual rate at the next meeting. Accounts amounting to £56 were passed for payment, and the meeting then adjourned.
