Ashburton County Ruarby Union.
, A meeting of the above Union was held last evening, Mr W. <J. Roberts in the chair. The Methven Football Club requested the re-instatement in junior teams and all registered seniors. The secretary was instructed to ascertain the names of the players referred to. Mr Santy, referee in the match Longbeach v. Sprinsburn, reported that he had to order off the field aLongbeach player (F. Robinson), for using bad language. It was found that Robinson was not a j registered member of the L.ongbeach Club, ! and could not be dealt wish. I It was decided to write to the bongbeach Club, severely reprimanding them for playing an unregistered player, and cautioning them that a repetition of the offence will lead to their disqualification for the remainder of the season. The Longbeach delegates notified that his Club wished to forfeit the match with Southern Cross (B), fixed for Thursday next, June Ist —Agreed to, the forfeit fine being remitted. It was decided that the match Southern Cross v. Eafcaia be postponed till June 15th Thursday next being the Rakaia sale day. The following referee? were appointed : — Mr Pritcbard, Old Boys v. Hakatere seniors in thePomain, on Thursday nejct; Mr Baird, Old Boys v. Springbum (juniors) at Springburn, and Mr Santy in Methveu v. Southern Cross (A) at Methven. The Old Boys' delegate applied for the transfer of Bushell and Wilkie to their •junior t9am.—Granted. It was resolved that the junior match Springbum v Hak*te'e (postponed from May 11) be played on Monday, fith June, before the commencement of the representative match Ashburton v Canterbury; Mr Robill'&rd to act as referee. The secretary was instructed to endeavour to have the Mount' Somers train delayed ! on June sth, to alloy? &<» Spr£ngJ?urn public a chance of witnessing .the representative mTttas decided that the Junior Cupi be presented to the Sprjngburn Club a£ Springburn on Thursday next. A Subcommittee was appointed to attend to ground arrangements fo.r the representative on Monday next. § The secretary was instructed to ask the Sergeant of police to send a constable to assist in keeping the public off the oval. A Snb-committee was appointed to the advertising of the match. Minor business having been attended to, the meeting adjourned.
