Land Sales. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. report the sale, at a satisfactory price, to Mr Joseph Brown, Mount Somers, of 1,362 a. 3r. 17p., being pare of the N.Z. Agricultural Co/s, Ltd., Waimea Estate. The Company has now determined to sell out the balance of this estate as quickly as possible, and several further sales are pending. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. report the sale, at a satisfactory price, to Mr Hugh Craig, of Lawrence, of the Island Block, Moa Flat Estate. This is one of tho finest blocks of mixed agricultural and grazing land to be found m the province, and consists of about 1,103 acres. It is upon this block that the famous Island Block Company is dredging for gold. This no doubt gives the land a special value, but from the farmer's point of view it is a matter for regret that the land should be destroyed m this way, and it is to be hoped that, m the interests of settlement generally, such legislation may shortly be passed as will regulate the spoiling of valuable agricultural lands by gold-mioing operations. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., and the National Mortgage and Agency Co. of N.Z., Ltd., m conjunction, report the sale of the lemaining allotments on Heddon Bush Estate, Nos. 16, 17, and 18, to an undisclosed purchaser. The total area of the sections referred to is 1653 a. 3r. 2p., and the price realised is a satisfactory one. Messrs Guinness and LeCren, Geraldine, report the sale of Mr Jas. Jones's farm of 512 acres afc Ruapuna, and of Mr H. C. Barton's leasehold of 400 acres adjoining at satisfactory prices. Messrs Guinness and LeCren, Ltd, report having sold on account of Mr P. L.
