Accidents and Fatalities.
United Press Association—Per Electric Telegraph Wellington, May 25 The body of a man, about 45 years of age, was found m the harbour this morning. Deceased, who has not yet been identified, was fully dressed. There are no marks of violence. John Charles Abbott, aged 38 years, a irecenfc arrival from South Africa, was knooked down by an electric car m Wills Street fco-nightand seriously injured. Nblson, May 26 A painful sensation was caused m the city to-day. Harry Lane, a popular young man, less than thirty years of age, well known m loc»l musical and aportingcircles, committed suicide by hanging himself this morning at Messrs Rounselt's bookselling establishment, where he was employed. He had just returned from a holiday m Christchurch, and appeared quite cheerful at breakfast. No cause is yet assignable for the doed, except that he suffered from bad health. No further details are yet available as death only just occurred at 10 o'clock, the dead body being found hanging m an upstairs room, at 11 o'clock, Oamauu, May 26 George Geddes, junr., was killed on the Maerewhenua road, near Duntroon. A dray passed over him. There are no further details.
