A Cambridge Tragedy.
YOUNG MAN'S RASH ACT. Cambridge, May 23 William Connolly, 22 years of age, shot himself m the region of the heart with a revolver. His condition is critical. The affair is the outcome of a conrtship episode. The incident oocurred last night, while Connelly was m the company of a young lady. Auckland May 23 The " Star's " aocount of the Cambridge tragedy states that Connolly was keeping company with a young lady whose parents did not approve, and she broke off her relationship. Connolly bought a small revolver yesterday. In the evening he met the young lady, and told her he could not live without her. She remained obdurate. They parted, and immediately Connolly shot himself, the bullet passing over the heart through the king, an.d lodged m his back, The young lady assisted Connelly to a neighbour's house, whera medioai attendance waa secured, Connelly was conveyed to a private hospital on a stretcher.' He was alive this morning, but there was | not much hope of his recovery.
