* London, May 13 A vessel which has arrived at Chefoo reports that the Japanese transport Shentysumara, with a oargo of provisions, bound for Niuchwang, struck a mine near the Miotao Islands, and eank m a storm, after refusing assistance from a Chinese merchantman. The British steamer Sobralense struck a mine off Port Arthur, and sank immediately. All the Europeans aboard were resoued hy a boat from Port Arthur. Several of the coloured crew and passenger s were drowned.
