Methven Stock Sale.

About 2,000 sheep and 12 head of cattle comprised the total yarding at Methven on Thursday. The attendance was limited, but prices were a shade better than ab the previous sale. Cattle were dull of sale. Crossbred ewes made 14s 6d to 153 6d; wethers 13s 9d to 16s; merino ewes 23 6d; j wethers 9s 9d; fat ewes 17s; merino do Bs, 9s 7d; lambs 17s, 17s Id, 18s, 18s 9d, 19 6d. j Cattle—Springing heifers £5; do passed at £Q 10s, £7 10s; young cattle no bidding. Among the lambs Mr Hibbs sold a line of 165 of the Dorset horn croBS at 19s 6d. A consignment of the same lambs brought 18s 9d to 2ls in the Addingtou market last Wednesday, these being the .best prices for the day in each case.
