Mayfield Saleyards Co., Ltd.

The annual general meeting of shareholders in the above Company was hold on Thursday evening, May 11th. There were 15 shareholders present, including 3 ladies. The report and balaace sheet were read and adopted. In spite of a considerable decrease in the number of sheep yarded, the Company was shown to be in a good position, mainly through the increase in the number of sheep dipped, tho total being , 18,4.13. Mr Thos. Harrison sent in his resignation as a director on account of leaving the district, which was accepted with regret. Three directors, Messrs Bennett, L. Williams, and W. Wilson were appointed. Mr Pickles was re-appointed auditor, and, at a meeting of directors held after the [annual meeting, Mr W. Oakley was re-appointed Chairman of Directors. At the conclusion of the annual meeting, a much appreciated innovation was introduced, when the three lady shareholders present Mesdames J. Dellow, W. G. Gallagher and Miss Hight, assisted by the daughter of the Chairman, provided re freshments.
