United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Dunedin, May 12 A locomotive that; tad been to Heriot for cleaning, and was returning to Edievale after dark yesterday, smashed into some passenger cars that were standing on the main line, telescoping one carriage and doing considerable damage to the engine and rolling stock. The man on the engine escaped with a severe shaking. All hands have been suspended pending enquiry.
