A case will shortly come before the Tn~ vercargill Police Court of a young man who was recently fined for an offence m Invercsrgill using threatening behaviour to one of tho witnesses who gave evidence against him. Messrs Oates, Lowry and Co., having taken over the business of Messrs M. A. Koiff and Co., and also having enlarged the Burnett; street branch, are now m a position to cope with the fast increasing trade of the district, Mr Korff will have charge of the workshops, and all classes of repairs to motors, engines, machinery, mechanical appliances, etc., wil be carried out under his personal supervision. Among the latest aspirants for popular favour ia " Stand-oat" tea for which it is claimed that being grown on the well known Ceylon highlands, and skilfully blended it is more healthy and (nourishing than moßt teas. The proprietors introduce rather an innovation m the shape of a guarantee— the only tea sold with a guarantee as they call it—which bespeaks their confidence m the purity and flavour of their product, and should certainly ensure the fullest confidence of the tea buying housewife. Mr O. H. Carson reports having placed several motor oars, m conjunction with Messrs Skeate3 and Kocfcaert, and also Messrs Adams Star Cycle Co., whose agencies he holds for this district.
