Ashburton Stock Market.
There was only a moderate attendance at theAshbnrton Yards to-day, and taken throughout very little interest was manifested m the sale. The total yarding of sheep was small, comprising some 3,000 sheep and lambs, while 60 head of mixed cattle came up for offer. The fat sheep pens were well filled, but the greater portion of the entry was unfinished, and considering the quality of the mucton late prices were fully maintained. Fat lambs sold well up to past rates, while stores were on a par with prices ruling during the past two week?. Although breeding ewes and store hoggets show a decline sin price of fully 2s 6d to 33 6d per head as compared with prices ruling some four or five months ago, very little difference wcs noticeable m today's rates m compari'm with the past three weekly sales. Cattle also sold at prices equal to those obtained at last sale. Ewe mutton made 3d to 3£d per Ib, wether do 4d, lamb 5d to s£d per lb. Beef 12a to 20s per lOOlbs.
