The Chairman read the annual balance sheet showing balance brought over from previous year's general account .£228 15s 3d; receipts last year, .£1097 183 4i ; expenditure, .£IO9O 14s Id j balance m hand £235 19s 6d; amount m hand from Land fund JS95lOs ; total balance £331 9s 6d. It was decided to submit the report and balance sheet, as read to the annual meeting of ratepayers. The Chairman read the annual report, whioh stated that the purchase of an Austin road grader had proved a very profitable investment, as it was impossible to undertake the work required to be done without its assistance. During the year, 6742 chains of road had been reformed or regraded at a cost of £269 5s 7d, at the rate of about 9£d per chain. A re&ume was given of the work undertaken during the year and the Board's proceedings and transactions during that period. 280 chains of road had bean metalled at a cost of £238 16s 7d, and 1420 chains had been tussocked at a cost of £101 19s Sd^ The revaluation of property m the Board's district, while increasing the amount which found its;way to the coffers of the State.had little effect on the amount realisable by this Board m rates. It was decided to submit a copy of the Board's annual report to the meeting of ratepayers.
