Messrs Friedlander Bros., Limited, this afternoon offered at auction, on behalf of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Co., a 402 acre block of land at Fairton, which was disposed of to Mr W. H. Anderson, Fairfield, at £8 6s per ncro. The same firm also offered Mr R. Nish's property at Carter's Terrace, Tinwald, containing 13 acres 2 roods 1 perch, which was purchased by Mrs F. Sheehan at .£45 per acre. Mr D. Thomas also offered to-day Mr John Ellis'farm at the llind3, containing 148 acres of agricultural land. "When land was at its lowest some ten years ago, the auctioneer stated, this property realised £18 per acre. Bidding to-day started at £20 per acre, the property being withdrawn at publio auction at that figure. Mr D. Thomas to-day offered on account of Mrs E. J. Primmer 5 acres freehold and 2 acres leasehold, with buildings erected thereon, located near the A. & P. grounds. Bidding commenced at £500 and reached £600, at which figure the property was withdrawn. On account of the Anama Eoad Board Mr Thomas offered to-day a closed road containing 6 acres 3 roods 22 perches. Bidding commenced at £2 per acre and reached £3 10s, Mr D. H. Aoland being the purchaser at that price.
