Rouse, aged 21 year 3, second mate of the Government schooner Countess of Ranfurly, was washed overboard and drowned on the passage of a vessel from Auckland to Niue. Deceased was a native of London, where his parents reside. Nelson, April 27 Albert Hollyman, nged six year 3, the adopted son of Mr Denis Frost, was swinging on a timber wagon when he fell under the wheels and was so badly injured that he died to-night. Mr Joseph Holden, agei 75 years, an old settler of Riwaka, was thrown from his trap to-day and killed. Hokitika April 27 John Olson, a well known settler m the district, was severely crushed about the lower part of the body, being caught between two moving trucks at the railway Biding. The injuries are considered serious.
