The cavalry patrols came m contact with small parties of dervishes, who invariably retreated. Received Wakapuaka August 30, 9.20 a.m, Guardian Office 9 48 a.m Cairo, August 29 Refugees from Omdurman report that new earthworks are being erected round the city. Osman Digna and Emir Wad Dekeim, with a Btrong force of dervishes are stationed somewhere outside the city m the open country. A fight is expected on Thursday.
