Tinwald.

The annual meeting of the houaeholdera of the Tinwald school district was. held m the Bchoolroom last evening. There was a good attendance and Mr J, A. Clothier, chairman of the outgoing committee, presided. The Committee reported having held eleven meetings daring the year. In April last) the number of scholars on the roll was boys 78, girls 70 ; total 148. The present number is boy« 82, girls 74; total 156, showing an increase of 8 scholars during the year. The average for last qnarter was 124. In the month' of June Miss Taylor resigned the position of infant mistress, the duties of which she had discharged with marked ability for three and a half years. Prior to her departure she was the reoipient of a suitable memento subscribed fox by the parents and friends of the scholars as $ token of {heir appreciation of tier services. On the recommendation of your Committee the Board promoted Miss Douds to the position of infant mistress and Miss R. Bonnington to that of assistant mistress. We are pleased to say that judging from the fnspeotor'a annual report the whole of the staff are doing excellent work.
