The ironth'y meeting of the Longbeach Road Board was held on Saturday Present —Messrs John Grigg (Chairman), Jaa. Croy, E, Horsey, and A. Wilson. CORRESPONDENCE. Ctorrespoadence was received from the Coldstream Road Bowl, requesting repairs on Foundary road, and that 150 yards of metal be placed on "Whidermere roid —It was resolved to put 150 yards of shingle on Windermere road to the best advantage, and it was decided to insprcl) the property adjofniag the Boundary road where the repairs were required, with a view to purchasing a sits lor * gravel pit. From the Baink of New Zealand, stating conditions and terms on which overdraft might he arranged if necessary. From Mr Frampton, re site of gravel pit.— It was resolved that no loose horses be allowed on the site during the time it may be used by contractors. From Mr F. Powell, quoting price of grain, and advice as to, distribution.—The Clerk stated that poisoned wheat had been obtained from Messrs Brooke and Powell, and was now ready for distribution amongtt the ratepayers.—The action was approved. From the Ashburton Drug Company, quoting price of poisoned wheat, etc. ; From Mrß. Lowe, accepting conditions 1 of lease of part reserve. STRAY STOCK. Members spoke of the practice of persons allowing stock to wander about the roads in the district, and the danger caused. J t was resolved to give public notice'that the Board had resolved not to permit stock to be. grazed on the roads, and that the question of appointing a ranger be considered next meeting. MEETING DAY. It was resolved to alter the day of meeting to the second Saturdayjn the month. FLEMIKGTOX POUND. It was decided -to draw the attention of the County Council to the dilapidated condition of the Flemington pound. WORKS. The Clerks were instructed to request the Tinwald Town Board to make convenient and proper outlet to water running down Graham's road. The Surveyors' report was of a routine nature, dealing principally with works on hand, and suggesting some minor works. The report was adopted. ACCOUNTS. After passing accounts amounting to £98 6s sd, the Board adjourned.
