THE RUSSIAN FAMINE.
St. Petersburg, January 12. Russia has assigned £7,500,000 to assist the starving peasantry. A virulent type of typhus fever is widespread m the famine-stricken districts, accompanied with great mortality, especially among children. THE RUSSIAN BUDGET. The Russian budget shows a deficit of 74.000,000 roubles.
