This is good news fot Sew Zealand. : I Italy is making another attempt to induce the nations to aettle on a Common meridian for the use of the world. At £lie conference held in Washington, England and America agreed to accept the meridian of Greenwich, but the other natiens refused to ratify thia arrangement, and at the forthcoming conference, which will shortly '-take place: in Rome, Italy will propose that Jerusalem; be accepted as the common .meridian,, ajnd .the place which shall therefore give; the timejfor the whole of the world. . . ;
