Something like a split has occurred m the labor camp through the Presi dent of the Trades Hall «nd other leaders attending a farewell banquet given by colonists to Lord Carrington. At a mass meeting of Unionists resolutions condemning their action were carried, and speeches of rather ::. revolutionary character were delivered. The Labor Defence Committee has received telegrams from the Queensland Committta announcing the determination of the latter body"to declare the strike terminated at noon to-day. The Victorian officers have telegraphed to shipowners asking them to recognise their Union, as they have agreed to withdraw from affiliation with other trade bodies.
