Messrs O'Brien, and Dillon have arrived at Cherbourg, an important seaport, town of France, m the department of Manche, and have proceeded to Paris. It is stated that His Holiness the Pope desires to confer with them ; and it is expected that they will leave for America at the end of the next week. Messrs O'Brien and Dillon sail for America on October 25, and state that "they expect to raise £100,000 m aid of the Land League. Mr Gladstone, m an article contributed to the "Jewish World," states that if the edicts said to be issued by the Russian Government against the Jews are proved to be correct, lie will urge that steps be taken to rouse the conscience of Europe against the tyrannical action of Russia. t The British South Africa Company have concluded a treaty with the Natives for the cession of Manisa country. Portugal claims to hare protection over this territory.
