Captain Mackell purchased Kirkham for 610 guineas, Mr Swan Narallen for 250 guineas, Mr I). Baird the yearlong bay colt by MartiniHenri from La Princess for 550 guineas, Mr D. Cooper Wcntworth for 1700 guineas, Nepean for 350, and Mons Meg for 2600 guineas. There was brisk bidding, and Lord Randolph Churchill bid 1600 guineas for Wentworth.
