Ashburton Cricket Club

The opening match of Mip season was played yesterday, the Kleven v. All Comers, and proved very satisfactory. The ground is m better order than it has been for some time, and rafter a little more attention will make ft very good one. We were glad to see so many of the young players, which augurs well for the coming season.' The players, all told, mustered 25, and the letting'and bowling was very fair for an opening match. Sawle, Crawfield; Green, Bison, and Andrews played well for the Eleven. Denshire, Bundle, B?iwle, and Glen did good work for the " All Comers." Denshire, who captained them, showed some excellent cricket. The following are the scores :—Eleven, first innings, 47; All Comers, first innings, 35, and 69 second innings. As there was not time to finish, the game was drawn m favor of the Eleven. The next match is flgahwt Methven on the ISth on tha Ashburton ground.,
