The Rabbit Bill introduced into the House of Assembly offers no assistance or concessions m the direction of supplying landholders with small loans or to paying a quota to cope with the pest. The Bill to a large extent facilitates the erection of rabbit proof fenoin" 1 by recompensing substantial improvements under the Crown Lands Act, also by regulating the liabilities and contributions of parties interested. It also provides that the cost of maintenance of the present rabbit proof fences erected as a barrier to the pest by the State shall be thrown on the owners of land adjoining that protection.
