The " Sydney Morning Herald," referring to the discussions m the New Zealand Parliament on Federation, says it is plain if the 1 dolony* meant business it would have insisted :j on >a full share m the representation; m any case it would scarcely have sent Sir G. Grey, whose opinions are antifederal, or Captain Russell/ who has already expressed himself with marked luke-warmness. New Zealand, m the opinion of the " Herald," is evidently i desirous of steering a middle course, and of not committing herself either to isolation or to union, but wishes to leave the door open to entrace into the Dominion by and bye, if policy should favor such a course.
