Live Stock Market.

Mr Geo. .1 ameson, per J. T. Ford, re : ports .on the Jive stock market:—Tjnwald Saleyards, Tuesday, September 9th, There was only a small entry of sheep, about 3500, and the demand was by no means brisk, owing, we think, to the temporary suspension of the freezing Torks at Belfast and Islington and to some extent m consequence of the continued dry weather and general scarcity <.f #ed, • Store sheep are wanted m the div

trict, but buyers apparently prefer to wait m anticipation of a further fall n values, which will not take place as there is no reason prices should recede. On the other hand, with increased refrigerating power both north and south, and with increased tonnagn to take away all the sheep and cattle we can supply, there is not the least fear but that remunerative prices will continue and increase, especially as there is every probability of a rise m wool at the coming sales m London. At present we have to record a slight decline, especially m crossbred hoggets, and holders will only part when under pressure from absolute scarcity of feed. In this they are right, as those who hold for a month will see the return to former Values with ready buyers for all that can be brought forward. The following is a list of our salea and the prices obtained :—Fat two-tooth crossbreds, 33 at 14s, 33 at 14s, 33 at 12s ; fat crossbred ewes, 49 at lls 6d; crossbred hoggets, 206 at lls 6d, 250 at 9s; 100 merino ewes m lamb at 6s. Since our last report we have sold privately 500 crossbred hoggets at 10s, a line of merino ewes m lamb at 7s Id and 8s 3d, a line of crossbred hoggets at 8s 3d.
