The officers and crew of the Collier, who refused, duty owing to nonunionists being allowed to work on. the vessel, Avore arrested, but subsequently they agreed to return to work, and were released. Twenty-one firemen and three seamen belonging to the British India Company's steamer Dorunda hare been, arrested for refusing duty. ■■■. .;,, ; Cardinal Moran informed a deputation from' the Labor Committee who waited on him, yesterday that, while acknowledging the justice of the men's demands,.it was inadvisable for him to take any steps at the present juncture. So far there has been no result to the Mayor's attempt at mediation, and it is considered unlikely there will be any unless the men are prepared tQ considerably give way.
