London, September 9 and 10. Obituary—Canon Liddon. The weather, is favorable to the harvest, and the wheat market is somewhat depressed m consequence. Replying to a deputation from the Canadian Trade Congress, Sir J. Maodonald said legislation to exclude the Chinese would embarrass England, and it was moreover desirable that Canada should cultivate the friendship of China. . Miss Marsden, fqrmerly Matron of the Wellington Hospital, is visiting Russia for the purpose of inspecting prisons' and delivering lectures. It is hoped a Bill allowing an appeal to the American Courts will settle the Behring Sea Difficulty.
