Direct mails will be carried Try vessels of the Shaw-Savill and New Zealand Shipping Jonipanies alternately. Rumor has it that provision will be made m the Supplementary Estimates for a Technical College at Wellington, Auck--1 land, Christchurch, and Dunedin, also for reinstatement of the sum which was struck off the vote for salaries of the Audit Department, and replacing sums whioh were docked off heads of some departments while the retrenchment fever wm at its height,
