InvbrcargiliL, September 5. A meeting of public servants here adopted a resolution to join the Public Servants Association, and appointed a committee. About 30 were present. Mr Borrie, Collector of Customs, was m the chair, and most heads of the Department took part m the proceedings. The charge of perjury against Metcalf, Picturesque Atlas can passer, was dismissed m the Police Court to-day. The evidence of two new witnesses was to the effect that accused had represented that he was the accredited agent of the Government of New South Wales, which he had denied at the hearing of the civil case Bowerman v. Grieve.
